What's this then? Grassroots is an exciting new website for sports-men and women of all ages who are involved in amateur sports. The site has been created to raise the profile of lower league clubs and provide everybody with the oppurtunity to see their name in print. We want the site to become a springboard for up and coming journalists or photographers looking to build their portfolio. However, that is not its sole purpose; we want everybody to send us their work no matter how skilled they consider themselves to be. Please send your reports, updates, fixtures, news, league tables etc to info@grassrootsreports.co.uk where they will either be published as they are or moulded into an article. This site will also act as a forum for people to share their own views on what they have read or seen in the week.

GRASSROOTS NEEDS YOU TO MAKE THE HEADLINES

All you have to do is send us your match report or key details and it will be your name and picture splashed across this page.

Have you ever dreamt of being the headline maker? Seeing your name splashed across the back pages with hundreds of people talking about your wonder goal, thunderous shot, perfectly placed putt or how much of a machine you are.

Have you ever played the game of your life and wished every body could know about it, not just the opposition or the one man and his dog watching? How many times have you sat in the pub arguing with your mates about who played that pass, when that point was scored or what the score was at the start of the season?

Well Grassroots can offer you the opportunity to settle arguments, put your name in lights or raise the profile of your club for FREE. All you have to do is send us your match report or key details and it will be your name and picture splashed across this page.

If you have sent us an article or picture you will be accredited with the by-line, so it’s not just players that can see their name here but fans, managers, parents or people looking to build a portfolio of work.

So come on people, dust of those puma kings, liberate that racket behind the boiler, crack open your snooker case and put on the kit that surprisingly still fits (at least that’s what we tell ourselves) and start making headlines of your own.

As well as daily updates, you will be able to read the opinions of our weekly columnists:
  • Match magazines Tim O’Sullivan shares his extensive knowledge on football.
  • Sky’s Nick Colling dissects the week’s big sporting headlines.
  • Expert Jim Garrity gives you the inside track on sport in Southend.
  • The Football league paper’s Owen Tustin express’s his editorial views.
